1509 Operación Victoria tells the story of a handful of young Peruvian investigative police agents led by Colonel Benedicto Jiménez, who took on the difficult task of capturing the leader of the communist Shining Path movement, Abimael Guzmán.

A follower of Marx, Lenin and Mao, he had fostered the creation of a machine of death and destruction to seize power. In 29 months, the Special Intelligence Group - GEIN accomplished what had not been achieved in 10 years of internal warfare, discovering the movement's structure and this clandestine organization's modus operandi, as well as identifying the houses where Abimael Guzmán lived in residential neighborhoods in the city of Lima.
